Legacy
The subjects of the Khamsa — Layla and Majnun, Khosrow and Shirin, Bahram and the seven beauties — became favourite themes of Eastern book miniature. Hundreds of manuscripts are adorned with illustrations of Nizami's poems.
Through these miniatures Nizami's poetry also gained a visible image.
Legacy
Streets, metro stations, institutes and museums bear Nizami's name. Monuments and statues of the poet stand in Baku, Ganja, and also in Rome, Moscow and other cities of the world.
So Ganja gave the world a poet who became a shared cultural heritage.
