A tall stone tower on the plain near Ganja keeps the memory of Nizami Ganjavi — the poet whose 'Quintet' has nourished the culture of the East and the world for eight centuries.
What it is
The Nizami Mausoleum is a tall cylindrical structure of dark stone, raised in memory of the great poet Nizami Ganjavi near his home city of Ganja.
It took its present form in 1991, on the site of older structures. Around it lie a garden and a square with sculptures inspired by the images of the Khamsa.

In front of the mausoleum spreads a square with sculptures of fantastic creatures and heroes inspired by Nizami's five poems. From here a view opens over Ganja.
